Teaching is one of the five gifts given to the church and I believe that that gift is talking about a
gift of one who teaches but raises up other teachers. Spiritual teaching needs to have its full
foundation in the original inspired documents of the Bible interpreted through the unction and
guiding of the Holy Spirit. The understanding of the culture, events and history of people in the
Bible is essential to accurate understanding and interpretation of the scriptures necessary to
teach with power and clarity necessary for the importance to be properly communicated. It is a
beautiful gift to be able to communicate spiritual values and learning through the Holy Spirit to
persons with multiple types of different forms of learning as some learn by words first, others
are very pictoral, some learn by reading, others by hearing and others by activities and projects.
I learn and grow primarily through relationships and then through the mind type of activities but
others mind first and through relationships after. Some people tend to be stronger in reading
and learn better with written words but other learn things with numbers easier and prefer to
work with numbers. The accomplished spiritual teacher will be able to reach, inspire, provide
knowledge through teaching, and create a healthy interest for all persons of multiple learning
skills, learning disabilities and preferences to find a pathway to communicate spiritual truth to
multiple ages and interests. Gifting may be teaching, preaching, encouraging, counseling,
discipling, mentoring, motivating and inspiring where each person may use different methods
but make spiritual truth come alive in those who receive it.
